Morning All... Two days of cycling to work and back plus some bizarre motivation to go to the gym on Monday has prompted a rest day today - nice realxing drive in as there's not much traffic around here at 6.30-7am
the old-school Mathematician part of me still grumbles at anyone referring to 1,000,000,000 as a billion, rather than a "thousand million"!
I'm with you there Thargor - you've touched on one of my personal bugbears too. Using one thousand million as one billion is a redundant waste of numbers. Whether the US felt that there would never be a regular use for counting to one million million in day-to-day society and opted to pin a billion on a lower number or if there was some other reason... What we call one trillion should be one billion - seems silly wasting all the "(ten/hundred)thousand millions".

I do like consistency when it comes to 10^x, but I don't think we'll see any change now. More than happy to continue to think in base-2 for the foreseeable future - again, another reason for suggesting new badges start at 4, 8 and 16 years biggrin

Half day stats a little down when compared to the last 2 days:
