Would it be a pair of pantyhose or a pair of pantyhoses then?
Burglarized doesn't add up either!

Why not?

The first one.

Try Burgled; to commit burglary upon a house, etc.
You can't be going round sticking an arized onto the end of everything.

I think the root here is "burglar" the noun.
What he does is commit burglary, and those he does it to, are burglarized. Seems normal to me, but then again, what does a Dane know?
Family --> familiar --> familiarize(d)
Would like to be able to think of other parallels

Re: Math or Maths, that is the question!

As an abbrevation of Mathematics, Math is better than Maths.......
Only to an american biggrin

It's quite alright, the rest of you are forgiven. biggrin

....why is it a 'pair' of trousers when there is only one of them? Unlike a pair of gloves which has two of them! biggrin

Well, I'd say that sometimes it's cold enough to wear two... but then that'd be two pair.... Although, sometimes you do just need to add more layers...

Personally, I much prefer to just wear pants instead of trousers. Wearing trousers is nowhere near as comfortable as simply wearing pants.
