GB033533, get anywhere?
[OT] On Antivirus packages, I share the experiences that nanoprobe mentioned. The suite is evil, avoid it. AVG and Avast are two of the more friendly and yet powerful packages, but it all depends on the settings. A cache cleaner gets rid of many would be problems, and most good browsers can be cleared on exit. So that along with MSSE and a system firewall is usually enough. |

Hi skgiven, thanks for asking. Although I haven't actually changed my av package yet, I've not had a repeat of the all 'detached' experience.
----------------------------------------I've tended to be careful about how often I ask for new work, suspending receiving new work, running down my cache and completing my cep2 wu before asking for some more. Dunno if it helps but it makes me feel better. I've also realised what BAM actually is, as I couldn't at the time find those options in the advanced view that sekerob mentioned. So I've made that connection, and discovered a whole new world of stats... Thanks for all your help. ![]() |
