Hello Chris,
this is a good proposition. It would not be to difficult to do this. A big part of the translation work of the WCG help has already been done. I did not do the rest because I wanted to be sure, that the text would really be put on the official website. But this has not happened, unfortunately. You can refer to this https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...ad,29088_offset,20#284869 thread. It is about WCG in German, too. Best wishes Martin |

German is the most spoken language in europe and most wcg users are from europe so i really dont understand why the wcg page is not translated in german.

Also, wahrlich, to be honest, think it adds a whole bunch of admin cost to keep the different languages synchronized. Statistics did reveal that the additional uptake from adding more languages than the present, had very marginal effect on the additional people joining, and staying!
From a forum support point of view it would not be a problem, except, no one ever posts in German outside of German/Austrian/Swiss team threads. There are many volunteers who'd have no problem answering. Maybe IBM Germany would like to sponsor this... WCG as a Corporate sponsored effort is not going away for the foreseeable future. --//-- |

Hello Sekerob,
I can explain how a German version would be possible without any costs. You take the text I translated in the Viki. If the instruction of world community grid changes so dramatically, that this text is no longer valid, which is very unliely, as BOINC is very stable, then you simply block the German translation you have activated before. I do not see costs, really Sincerely yours Martin Schnellinger |

That would then be a viki-"leaked" condition ;>)

I do realize that German is the most spoken language in Europe.
