What would you like me to post? If it is still around, I will happily do so. This maybe?

adrianx,
now we're talkin'. 18:14:53 (6004): No heartbeat from core client for 30 sec - exiting No heartbeat: Exiting So, as laid out in my previous post of your system being overloaded, revert to selecting the -2- CEP2 WU's in the profile custom prefs Project Specific Settings Number of workunits per host for The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2? 2 The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 is limited on how many workunits a computer can have downloaded at a time and what minimum bandwidth the computer must have in order to receive any workunits. Changing this value from the default of 1 will override both of these restrictions. and have the other cores run other sciences so the client can be tested if it can handle 2 simultaneous to the end. If that works set a number of CEP2 WUs so that the cache mix will have about 2 running concurrent and other cores doing the lighter stuff. My cache setting is 1.5 days with 6 CEP2 allowed, mixed with C4CW and DDDT2, an occasional micromanagement act needed to start or suspend a CEP2 task when more or less than 2 happen to get started from the queue. Of course, for CEP2 it's a strong recommendation to have LAIM "ON" (Leave app in memory when suspended). Experimenting is needed since BOINC+WCG can currently only control how many are assigned to a client and not how many run concurrently (very near the top of my wish list together with DCF "per science"). If you set a relative modest cache and CEP2 only as main project and "if no work avail..." to fill the other cores, WCG will always try to send CEP2 first when there are not the required number of CEP2 "in progress". Naturally, if being a badge builder, you can alternate the selection.... choose CEP2 plus whatever other sciences that need topping up. --//-- |

I have set the limit back to 1, it seems to work like that.
----------------------------------------Still smells of bad coding. Still, I've only 30+ years of professional coding experience - what would I know? WCG has only a few percent of my crunching resources, my machines are not inactive, rather, they are 100% active 24, 7.
