I have to report all my BETA tasks failed, 15 so far. About half have another computer that errored as well. But all have been successfully completed by someone so the tasks are not bad.
----------------------------------------deviceid 935398 OSX 10.5 BOINC 6.10.58 Here is the stderr from one, they all have the same error. BETA_ c4cw_ target03_ 070191951_ 1-- <core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> process got signal 5 </message> <stderr_txt> dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 </stderr_txt> ]]> |

Jeff17,
Yup, that is the error we were testing for. It appears that our changes did not work and we are evaluating the compile options. It appears to affect 64 bit Mac's running OSX 10.5. We have not seen this issue on 10.6. -Uplinger |

I had four Beta's, all validated ok. I suspended them, switched projects, unsuspended them, rebooted my mac but could not break them.
I am now running a fifth Beta WU - BETA_c4cw_target03_070195634 I'm the forth person to get this WU, 1st time it errored out, 2nd time detached, 3rd time no reply! Here is the error log from that WU: Result Log Result Name: BETA_ c4cw_ target03_ 070195634_ 0-- <core_client_version>6.6.29</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> process got signal 5 </message> <stderr_txt> dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 </stderr_txt> ]]> Hopefully it crunches ok on my machine |

It's another reason why I'd like the techs to consider adding the specific OS and version into the message logs, since that does get transmitted anyhow. In the DIY member self help diagnostics, with a OSX 10.5 identifier we'd know without asking again that it is the most likely fail cause. Per post of uplinger, OSX 10.6 should produce a fine result.

I'm sorry, during the last round of betas, one of my systems errored out 33 WUs. It was running 10.5. I updated the OS to 10.6 and this round it didn't generate any errors. Sorry I couldn't help this time around.
There were no hardware changes on this system, no app changes, just the update from 10.5 to 10.6.6. I think you're on the right track. |

... "for new project",
Sir, WCG never tells ahead when a new project test is planned and it would be a serious shift of policy to tell what is being beta tested when the time is there (often members dissect WU code to guess). There are 4-5 we publicly know as in the pipe, between now and few years (HCC2 and AMFM), and these are not all ;>) --//-- |
