sorry I never got back to you about my testing, but my initial assumptions of check pointing causing the issue was not the case. Do you remember if you did a fresh install to for 11.3 and then for 11.4? I am still curious as to what may have caused the issue in the first place. I will need to look into what major changes there were between 11.3 and 11.4 to see if something in the libraries changed.

Ok, had 3 more c4cw tasks and 2 more folding. All returned valid. So I think it is now safe to say the problem has gone away.
