Hi,
I, like the majority of the world, do not live in the US and as such can not access PBS. And I, like the majority of the world, find it extremely rude and insulting when American organisations fail to recognise this fact. So, I would like to thank the marketing department of WCG for their rude and insulting email regarding "The first-ever man vs. machine Jeopardy! competition" |

Just to agree with this post: I live in the UK so I got the 30 second commercial and then a banner telling me that I can't get the advertised content. However good the computer is going to be on Jeopardy! it's clearly not as powerful as the legal department.

To consider that Watson has his roots in the UK... maybe the UKanians can tap into PBS ;>)
(When Livingstone walked into another stranger out in deepest Africa, he supposedly said "Watson, I presume" upon which Stanley said "heck, how did you know that?", upon which he replied "International Business Machinations") NB: "Machinations" is a word known since the 15th century (according Merriam-Webster) :D |

I am in Switzerland and have no problem to access PBS, Nova etc..
----------------------------------------The problem of access is very often a problem that originates in the country from where the call is made. I do not know what is the PBS access problem in that specific case, but depending on the country from where you try to access, better first check if there are limitations to your internet freedom. ![]() ![]() |

Should I want to, I can watch media content from http://video.pbs.org/ and I live in the UK. I know some people are being restricted by their ISP. If you can I suggest you look into changing ISP; this problem will not get any better, just worse, much worse.

Stay tune for tomorrow
IBM Watson: Countdown to Jeopardy! On February 14, 2011, Watson, the IBM computing system designed to play Jeopardy!, faces its toughest challenge yet. Jeopardy! The IBM Challenge pits the two greatest champions in the show's history against a machine that rivals their ability to deliver a single, precise answer to a Jeopardy! Clue |
