Re: Keep getting high priority jobs: can't fill up cache...

Jack, don't lower your cache to .1 days. Leave it around 1 day unless there is some reason for the .1 day caching. The cache will help protect you against WCG going down temporarily.

You are correct except for one variable I didn't mention,
that is I am running 2 CEP2 units, or trying to on my I7 rigs.
I found that with 1 day cache it takes forever to get another CEP2
unit downloaded, then have to wait to be down with my 1 day
cache... So by the .1 I get to run at least one if not 2 per day.
Otherwise I totally agree, the one day cache would have kept me
from running dry the last brief outage.
Sorry for not gettin back to you earlier :)

Re: Keep getting high priority jobs: can't fill up cache...

But, But, But, this is why the CEP2 override was created, so you can tune the number cached to the size of the cache between 1-16. If gradually increasing that number from 2 to 3 to 4 or whatever the number, the cache will on first work call fetch a new CEP2 when one finishes and clear any "Ready to Report" if there are any. Eventually the cache well have a fairly balance mix, so pretty much 2 are always crunching, but 1 or more ready to be launched automatic, or manually if you want to.

BTW, the top mixes I found on (my) Linux/Q6600 for greatest efficiency were DDDT2/HCMD2/HCC/C4CW. These will run 99.7% or better with CEP2 doing it's 95-97% when left alone. CEP2 does seem to be impacted and impact HPF2/FAAH/HFCC, but only mildly.

Which happens about once a year.
