short answer is no.
Longish answer is...creating more short work units does not provide extra value to the researchers. We are delaying the release of the new application as we are verifying a few things. The delay does not have anything to do with waiting on the validator for points. We are working towards releasing it as soon as possible as the increase in speed for the work is awesome. It will allow us to do more science in the same amount of runtime! -Uplinger |

All Target03 Tasks my boxes ran have, so far, been similar in length to previous work. (All in Windows [W7/Vista/XP] on C2D/Q [Q9550/Q9300/Q6600/T5550].)

My experience is the same on 2 Win-7 AMD Athlon Dual Core boxes. The difference in time on both machines appears to be statistically insignificant. ![]() ![]() "Everything in moderation, including moderation" -- Mark Twain |

Those batches have only been sent out very recently (within the past 24 hours or so) and all the results your machines have returned so far have been from batches before batch 300. The batch number is the first 5 digits in the 9 digit work unit number (B's in the example below): c4cw_target03_BBBBBxxxx_x Seippel |

Hi.
----------------------------------------I can tell you that the 03 i 'm running now are longer the 02's, that used to take my hex core around 2hrs, 40min to finish. One of the new one's running now has done 55% in 2hrs 37min. update/ The first one finished, near enough to 100% increase runtime. c4cw_ target03_ 003301709_ 0.__Black-AMD-X6__Valid__12/23/10__ 21:30:50__ 12/24/10__02:26:16__4.69__125.0 / 77.7 [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 24, 2010 2:32:49 AM] |

Now estimated time for other projects are skewed again. :-( |

The server will update these runtime estimates once multiple results come back from the new longer work units. This is done automatically. The systems is set up this way because our estimates manually were usually far off and caused greater discrepancy. Please be patient as the estimations will level out within a few days.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Is there 10,000 batches for this target? If yes we are all most half way through this batch/target. I've just finished a task from 04482. c4cw_target03_044829937 Valid 2/11/11 23:08:06 2/12/11 03:29:48 4.12 105.9 / 79.0
