I'm back, high in the sky. The team needs a good jolt of afterburner. Throttles through the wire. Catching that X43A scramjet is not an easy thing. As you all know the equivalent of Mach 1 at WCG it is 100'000 ppd. To reach Mach 10 I need a sustained speed of 1Mppd. It puts a lot of strain on the hardware

Welcome back!
Navy ramped up production a while back but the distance they have to cover to catch up is fairly vast because of all of your help and the Base Campers help. The US Marines have jumped into the scene and are giving us a run for our money too. Have you solved the cooling issue or did you just end up waiting for the temperature to drop to kick the afterburners back on? We have notified all our bases to be on stand-by for you and all LOX plants are ramping up production to keep you supplied with O2 for your trip into the stratosphere. We are launcing chase aircraft now.  |

Dan, I had to wait for cooler temps indeed. My temp problems remain unsolved yet. I though I had found the solution but finally it turned out that it needed too extensive modifications to the place were the machines are. This is why I have to fly very high and very fast to stay always on the dark side of earth. In this way I keep lower temps around me.
----------------------------------------So keep up with Lox production, the problem will be how to organize inflight refueling. Hope your chase plane will be able to do that. That will be a first, to refuel at 80'000 feet at Mach 3. It is the minimum speed I can afford to keep flying.  P.S. Yesterday I just saw the X43A passing by and lost him behind me. We are looking at trying to drop a refueling hose down from the ISS. We think it's orbit is fast enough to keep up with you if you idle your scramjets. If not, you should have enough speed to go vertical and reach escape velocity to dock with the ISS for refueling. Their orbital velocity should keep you going fairly well while you refuel and replenish supplies.

Those stats sure make me feel like I am not very tall.
----------------------------------------Phrases like Holy-Smokes Batman and Golly Gee Willikers just don't seem to express enough in this situation.  This is for Hypernova and everyone that is giving the team their computor time and also their personal efforts keeping the crunch machines online.
