H2 Change BOINC data directory ?

Hello,

The device where my BOINC agent and data directory are installed is too small to compute for the CEP2 project.

Could you tell me how to change data directory without re-installing BOINC ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: H2 Change BOINC data directory ?

Quick Step (Not a Danse Macabre)

1. Note the current Data Directory in the message log if you not already know.
2. Unplug Internet
3. Uninstall BOINC which will automatically stop service too.
4. Copy Old Data Directory to desired location (ideally it's own small partition, 10GB more than enough)
5. Reinstall BOINC and point the Installer to the new Data Directory location. This will also restore the permission.
6. Visit the message log to make sure the new data directory location has been selected.
7. When happy, replug the internet connection.
8. Keep the old data dir in a zip. Some control files as a backup if you ever need to restore the device is handy.

Done.

edit: FAQ http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=28971 showing screenshot of installer as where to change the data directory path.
