Computer won't turn off display

My sister is running Windows 7 and BOINC 6.10.58. I have set WCG profile for her computer's power setting to work. I have also check that her computer will turn off the display after 10 mins. However her computer still won't turn off the display after 10mins. It keeps on showing the BOINC Screen Saver. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Re: Computer won't turn off display

Inside the BOINC screensaver there is an option to blank the screen. Set that too to 10 minutes. See FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...5&lastpage=yes#266370

Re: Computer won't turn off display

Hello TrustedDragon,

On my Windows 7 computer, I clicked on Start - Control Panel - Appearance and Personalization and then clicked on Change Screen Saver under the Personalization heading. Then I chose 'blank', doing away with the WCG screen saver.

I stay away from the Power Options now that I have them running at max speed. My Windows 7 OS keeps trying to slow down my computer if I change my Power Options.

Re: Computer won't turn off display

If you want to set the power, just set the CPU and Disk to never power down and whatever amount 10min? on the display. (Those are the settings (along with what lawrencehardin said) that I use.)

Regards.
