i'm using a computer with an old AMD athlon and an ATI radeon9550 / x1050
graphic card and windows xp 32. the client version is 6.10.58 i installed the driver from ATI for that card and since then when i click the show graphics button in get a crash window. it was fine before when there was no driver installed and windows was actualy complaining about an unknown device in the device manager. |

I know it's cliché, but - Doctor, it hurts when I do this... (Doctor) Don't do that.
----------------------------------------While it's probably possible to fix your conflicts, the cure is most likely worse than the disease. As long as you aren't experiencing other issues with your system's stability, I wouldn't worry about it. Displaying graphics also lowers the resources given towards the computation and they aren't that exciting to watch anyway. ![]() Distributed computing volunteer since September 27, 2000 |

It's not like i was having the show graphics on all the time. i was just peeking in from time to time.
i replaced the ATI card with a NVIDIA one and it worked fine. must be some sort of driver incompatibility. ...I know doctor... changing the graphic card is not solving the porblem at it's root , but it gives relief ;-) |

Welcome to the forums nutron.
----------------------------------------Your card is quite old now.Released in 2004. I had one of those aswell. Anyway it may be possible that the driver you installed no longer supports that card.If not try this one: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/10-11_xp32_dd.exe If that one didn't work then try this one https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.a...-2_legacy_xp32-64_wdm.exe Even though your nvidia driver is working it's not a very good idea to have that driver for an ATI card. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |
