Hello all,
----------------------------------------My team (SETI@Netherlands) was invited for the WCG challenge. Since S@H is having problems I thought it a good idea. I inadvertently installed the WCG-BOINC version and now that computer won't process any project correctly anymore. Please ta a look at this thread . Is there someone here that might have a suggestion for me? Please help, Eesger [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 21, 2010 9:48:06 PM] |

I took a quick look at your thread and noticed you've tried to uninstall boinc without success. This suggestion won't solve that problem, but how about you first remove BOINC from startup registry and then do installation to completely different folder (especially the working directory must be different). Just make sure your current BOINC won't start anymore.
----------------------------------------I'm pretty sure this would help, as I've sometimes installed two different BOINC versions to my computer simultaneously. In accident of course :) If you're not familiar with registry editing, then CCleaner is your solution. BTW, when you want to switch to another project, just attach to another. You can use the same client to all projects.
to infinity and beyond

also...some people have had problems with WCG's and have had success fixing it by installing Berkeley's version rather then WCG's. I would start there.

Haven't tried this, I will an I'll get back here with the result.I'm pretty sure this would help, as I've sometimes installed two different BOINC versions to my computer simultaneously. Could you post a screen dump of your 3 boinc preferences tabs.

Absolutely completely unbelievable.. there was a CPU usage setting set to 5%, how it got there, and more importantly remained there with all my re-install attempts, is a complete mystery to me! But your hint is the right one, THANX!!!
