I know for HCMD2, WCG tries to pair the 2 WU with CPUs that will do about the same amount of work. However, the question is does WCG do that for CEP2? Since for CEP2, the scientist have already said that the 2 WU don't need to perform the same amount of work, and they will just "accept" the one that does more work, shouldn't that WCG should pair a fast system with a slow system?
----------------------------------------I mean if the scientist already says that they will accept WUs that are only partially verified, then shouldn't we try to maximize the resources available? Of course there are probably other factors that I don't know about, but just a suggestion. ![]() |

Will let the techs or scientists respond if this "fastest/slowest" pairing would add to statistical significance.
----------------------------------------Different angle, would you hook up if your computer always was rated the slowest in a pairing? If fractional verification is OK all the time, could as well run it Zero Redundancy and do a cyclical check against a matching device about 10-20% of the results. Fortunately, it's a special opt-in science and no underpowered devices participate unless elected.
