I was on UD at the time and as WCG was going to use the UD software it was announced on there.....

I heard about WCG on the BBC news website, and thought I would crunch here until I could afford a PC that met the spec for climateprediction.net. 6 years later I'm still here   |

Congratulation from a youngster too The World Community Grid -To the Techs/Admins for keeping the grid alive -To the scientists for feeding the grid with work -To the CA's for helping and advising us crunchers -And too old and young crunchers for their contribution.... And from the tech support team, thanks for the congrats Thanks to everyone who posted in in thread. You all help make this job fun.  P.S. Happy Birthday WCG. Can anyone remember how they first heard of WCG, especially the people who joined in the first week. Patrick I read about donating idle CPU time somewhere on the web. I digged a little further and found BOINCstats. After looking around there I found WCG and decided to contribute 100% idle CPU to it as it was (still is?) the only humanitarian project with a clear policy of making all results available to the public domain.  |
