I, too hope September will be the month of the HCC GPU.... September is here :-P ACTUALLY it is only the 30th of AUGUST, so not QUITE September yet. Also the extension of the run times for most projects is an indication of Server problems and the Beta will probably be delayed until they fix the Servers. The problem is the Servers are not upto handling all the daily connections like they could 3 months ago and they are trying to figure out why. Releasing lots of new units, each with a potentially short run time, is probably not on their schedule right now. Disclaimer...I have NOTHING to do with WCG, or any other project or its affiliates, so am just saying this ON MY OWN. But the Server problems are well documented and SekeRob has clearly stated that the longer units are due to the ongoing Server connections problems. |

Quick update. We have completed an alpha test of some server logic and the version of the GPU application that the researchers have approved. We are ready to conduct a beta test but the work this week on the filesystem issue has taken our time this week and we have not been able to get the next beta started. We should be able to move forward with this soon.

Even thought I will be not able to shrub (aka crunch) on my openCL ATI GPU at Mac OS X, this is really great news. Everything what might speed up cancer treatment research is great.

Does anyone know if the videocards that produced "bad" results on previous tests, will get another chance ?
