Thanks for this lively discussion about the junior/senior/guru icon.

Snurk, I don't have any history with this subject (the icons) other than my recent futile foray into raising thought about "guru". I've read (a couple times now) that you are considering whether the icons stay or should go. It almost sounds like there is some sort of history with whether to keep them or remove them.
I'd be interested in knowing why removing them would be the right thing to do (and I'm not saying that it is necessarily wrong). If our "lively discussion" in any way would cause you to think about removing the icons, then put that out of your mind. We didn't have enough interest (or participation) in the preceding pages to merit being any kind of group consensus regarding the icons. You have my email addy, so I'd be happy to help with analysis, bouncing ideas, whatever, if you need any help. |

I've been following these last post with interest... because it's so funny...

Well, on one side it's true and on the other I found it to be very funny (maybe that's because I read a lot of MAD magazines when I was young  )Blade, I can only guess you are just not aware of how ridiculous statements like the one you just made are to people. I didn't find it ridiculous... I found it to be humorous  ...for some reason you seem to choose to ignore or disparage salient thought. The reason is obvious... he's injecting some humor into the conversation... nothing wrong with that (or did I miss the funeral?)... and yet you seem to feel the need to needle people just a bit more for some reason. I didn't see it as needling... it seems like a humorous commentI appreciate all oppinions and take them all into account when it's time to decide whether the icon will stay or go. Icons going away?... no, no icons need to go away. Instead just cook up an intermediate icon that people can work towards and don't need to leave their WCG account number in their will ! .CJSL Crunching for a brighter future .... |
