Re: I made a new forum signature.

@George S. Ehlers, firstly, welcome to the "machine" that is the WCG.

As you're new and clearly interested in badges, you might like to check out the Statistics charts one of our Community Advisors has created and is automatically updating so that you can decide which projects are near to completion (HCC), and hence, which projects you might like to focus your attention achieving a badge in, first.

These charts can be found here

Currently (although this is very much subject to change), the order in which they're expected to complete are;
HCC, then HCMD2 (although that very much depends on when the scientists at their end can resolve the temporary glitch in receiving/storing all the data we're generating).
After then, it'd probably HFCC - although that'll very much depend on exactly the amount of data they're wishing us to compute (last I heard, was 2 targets, which'll probably take ~6 months).

The two very long running projects, are FA@H & HPF2, and it's currently anticipated that these will be around for a long time to come...

Re: I made a new forum signature.

@gb009761,

Woah those charts are greek to me! I just selected all the projects to run thinking that the badges will come with time. Correct me if im wrong but the way to get badges faster is to concentrate on on project at a time, get the badge and then maybe move on?

I also thought that the projects are sort of never ending(sort of like primegrid), but the way I understand it is to work on the projects that will be ending soon in order to get a badge?

Thanx for the advice

(cant wait for my SIG!!)

Re: I made a new forum signature.

@George S. Ehlers, yes - if you want to be sure of getting a badge, especially for those projects which are soon to be ending, then yes, I'd strongly suggest that you just focus on specific projects.

In total, there's currently 6 projects that have officially come to an end, with potentially three others (Influenza Antiviral Drug Search, The Clean Energy Project & Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together) that have been placed in an Intermittent state until the scientists are confident that there's no more work for those first phases.

With regards to the charts, I'd suggest keeping an eye on one in particular - the 'WCGPI1 - Active/Intermittent Research Dashboard' and the table row "Days tasks left". Here, you'll see an estimated guess as to how many days of WU's are left - e.g., for HCC, it's currently showing 65 - thus, if you've got a single core working 24/7, then you should easily reach the Silver (45 days) badge level. If you've got a quad, then Ruby (180 days) should easily be in your reach.

Re: I made a new forum signature.

Never mind the guru's today. I made a mistake in assigning guru status just now!

>> Edit: Fixed!

What I also did, is add your points to the ranking list. You will see a column 'Mpts', which translates to mega-points or million-points, whatever you like.

I don't consider it as a mistake. I like to think of it as a correction. smile

Hi koolzuru, here's your signature:
http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af195/wcgsig/764400.gif ; koolzuru

cljune, your signature could not yet be created because you haven't returned your first WCG workunits yet. Once you do I can add you to the signature script.
