Helter Skelter c4cw_ target01_ 000374722_ 0-- 1292373 Valid 23-8-10 16:11:32 23-8-10 18:05:57 1.42 25.6 / 27.9 and the lowest WU number picked up 000068084 ... the highest number seen in beta was at least 19 million, but the science info suggests way way way more. lowest work unit should be 000001??? and will go to 999999??? for each target. Each batch is based on the first 3 numbers. so from your example, that was batch 000 :) Hope that gives you some insight on the work unit names :) -Uplinger |

EDIT: I could do one of these in ~4 seconds on a GTX285 ... 6 seconds tops. (hint, Hint, HINT) I should be even faster with a 5970 OpenCL FTW |

With just one PC with a Core i7-980 you'll need just over one day to get a bronze badge. Imagine many PCs with many cores each.

yes, but most people only had about 7 or 8 hrs to get 14 days work. Also remember some if the WU takes 2.5 hrs (like it does for me) and you only get done with 2.4 hrs worth at the end of the day, then it will be credited towards tomorrow.

The water bit was pretty much immediately picked up because of some file names. The admin hinted that the next release will be much harder to guess.... it wont be called C4CF ;-)

C4CW stands for "Computing For (4) Clean Water", as it was in the Beta phase
----------------------------------------Edit: The "water" part was easily deducted by the name of these files: 8/23/2010 11:41:01 AM World Community Grid Finished download of c4cw.target01.water-filled-filtered [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 23, 2010 10:11:54 PM] |
