I suspended a bunch of my other WUs. Hope to get the bronze on the next update.

Re: Computing for Clean Water Badge Recognition Thread

Helter Skelter

c4cw_ target01_ 000374722_ 0-- 1292373 Valid 23-8-10 16:11:32 23-8-10 18:05:57 1.42 25.6 / 27.9

and the lowest WU number picked up 000068084 ... the highest number seen in beta was at least 19 million, but the science info suggests way way way more.

lowest work unit should be 000001??? and will go to 999999??? for each target.

Each batch is based on the first 3 numbers. so from your example, that was batch 000 :)

Hope that gives you some insight on the work unit names :)

Re: Computing for Clean Water Badge Recognition Thread

With just one PC with a Core i7-980 you'll need just over one day to get a bronze badge. Imagine many PCs with many cores each.

Re: Computing for Clean Water Badge Recognition Thread

yes, but most people only had about 7 or 8 hrs to get 14 days work. Also remember some if the WU takes 2.5 hrs (like it does for me) and you only get done with 2.4 hrs worth at the end of the day, then it will be credited towards tomorrow.

Re: Computing for Clean Water Badge Recognition Thread

I'm not going to make it tonight,
I have dengue lined up (and no complaints about it)
Tomorrow though... One I7 has it's fill
So besides me did anyone think that the CW
in the betas might be Clean water??? biggrin
The C4 threw me off though, Usually using C4
just makes a mess...

Re: Computing for Clean Water Badge Recognition Thread

The water bit was pretty much immediately picked up because of some file names. The admin hinted that the next release will be much harder to guess.... it wont be called C4CF ;-)

Re: Computing for Clean Water Badge Recognition Thread

C4CW stands for "Computing For (4) Clean Water", as it was in the Beta phase tongue

Edit: The "water" part was easily deducted by the name of these files:

8/23/2010 11:41:01 AM World Community Grid Finished download of c4cw.target01.water-filled-filtered
