Wow, that is brutal Flodisar,
----------------------------------------I'm inland a bit from the coast (about 700 miles as the crow flies I think) The coast is bad (vancouver) your looking around a million... Here pretty good economy in alberta (oil) housing in/near the city about $400K for new, $200K for houses from the 70's Of course bigger and better up into the millions... I should go spend $100K in Arizona and get what would be $300K here... but then I'd have no income... If you go out to Newfoundland where there is no work, you can pay 30K for a liveable house. ![]() |

Yes, house prices are hard to keep up with, they seem to be high almost everywhere (where one can have a chance o find a job).
----------------------------------------And those awful banks don't make it easier as they no longer like to have a low interest rate on the mortgages. Everyone wants their unfair share :) ![]() Join The International Team: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=CK9RP1BKX1 AMD TR2990WX @ PBO, 64GB Quad 3200MHz 14-17-17-17-1T, RX6900XT @ Stock AMD 3800X @ PBO AMD 2700X @ 4GHz |

Looked at 3 houses,
----------------------------------------all thumbs down. However... thinking about one built in 2001, newer home style, with large basement to renovate and make our own. And the price is like 50,000 less than anything in the new millenium (only about 30,000 more than the duplex we are in). So only have to work 3 more years to pay it off, then work to pay for materials for the basement. ![]() |

Oh, my parents had a house with basement and it is very cosey and also relieving in hot summer days, but there are downsides and now they say they would not buy with a basement.
----------------------------------------Basements... Have many spiders :( (no worries if you live up north or like them) Add cost for maintenance of the house due to drainage costs, constant lookout for raised humidity levels or loose wallpaint. Usually have higher levels of Radon since you are "in the ground". You probably already know all this but make sure you get all info before you buy, to avoid hidden costs. But if the house is from 2001, then it should be in pretty good shape? ![]() Join The International Team: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=CK9RP1BKX1 AMD TR2990WX @ PBO, 64GB Quad 3200MHz 14-17-17-17-1T, RX6900XT @ Stock AMD 3800X @ PBO AMD 2700X @ 4GHz |
