Ian's Bats

This is a great photo Ian it takes some doing to capture a bat on the wing with this amount of light.

I will get around to setting up a gallery on the website one day hopefully this side of christmas smile

Graham that banner says it all

smile smile Join MyOnlineTeam Today or sooner !!! smile smile

Last week in our team chat, there was some desire to have a team history on the team website. Since our team captain has been quite busy with his work schedule, I decided to sort through the Team Forum and find the sequence of MyOnlineTeam team threads since the project began. Here is the list I came up with (starting with 5 members, 2988 points per day):

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=833 (3 Dec --> 4 Mar -- 745 Posts -- 126 Members -- 133,189 points per day)

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2102 (4 Mar --> 5 Apr -- 540 Posts -- 153 Members -- 178,804 points per day)

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2396 (5 Apr --> 23 Apr -- 453 Posts -- 162 Members -- 185,386 points per day)

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2567 (23 Apr --> 1 Jun -- 627 Posts -- 164 Members -- 236,866 points per day)

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2928 (1 Jun --> Present -- 543 Posts and counting -- 194 Members and growing -- 224,537 plus points per day)

That's 2308 posts in our team threads! I browsed some of the threads and there is a lot of interesting stuff that has gone on. It is interesting to see the greetings of the then new members that are now familiar friends in here.

Re: smile smile Join MyOnlineTeam Today or sooner !!! smile smile

Now that I have a couple of dedicated crunching machines I've been getting tired (read lazy) trying to directly moniter each so I started looking for a remote admin program. I'm running Windows ME on these machines so XP remote desktop was not an option and I'm not really a network guy. I have used Citrix in the past through work but didn't want to really pay for the software. I ran across a program called RealVnc at http://www.realvnc.com/what.html
and it seems to work pretty good. My network currently has a wireless router and one 8 port switch with the two machines (room for 5 more machines!). I had no issues setting this up - server on machine I want to monitor, viewer on the laptop in the living room so I can watch TV at the same time - did I mention I was lazy?.

Anybody know if there are issues with this program? I am not installing this on machines I care about and I am behind a fiewall so security is not a real issue. The free version has password but is not encripted. I'm also not looking to access it from outside my local LAN. Is there a better free or cheap program?

Thx
