Re: Another upload error - the Big _0_4 files not transfering.

Pity this happened on a Friday!
Any chance new tasks can be released that will end up returning to the working servers? This could well be an internal routing issue at the return end, and the WCG techs would therefore have little control over it.
Hope it gets sorted or my Linux adventure will be more abrupt than anticipated.

Newer finished WUs on my problem- box are uploaded without problems- I have only two 1_4 files, that
won't go. crying

Mathilde, have you tried restarting the boinc client?

skgiven, I'm about to restart the sending of new work...as I think the upload issue is resolved.

Re: Another upload error - the Big _0_4 files not transfering.

The upload problem I was having was for all (_0 to _4) segments but did not include the "locked file" or "EOF" messages, just the connect failed(). It cleared for me at 16:46 UTC. Since then I've uploaded all segments (_0 to _4) for 16 WUs without problem.

Is the problem still occurring for others?

Re: Another upload error - the Big _0_4 files not transfering.

Mathilde,

I am curious, are you willing to edit your client_config.xml file to add additional logging information? If so I can give you quick instructions on how to do that.

Re: Another upload error - the Big _0_4 files not transfering.

mclaver, I was able to test the server and my machines are uploading the large file back. But you are having an issue returning the 3rd and 4th file. These go to two different servers. So I am not sure what is going on there.

conflictingemotions, please give the error upload another try. A file handle could have been locked...so it may be released by now.

I have tried restarting the computer, and these two still are stuck. Others seem to process. It is an I7 920 so eight tasks are running, one is stuck in uploading, one is stuck in ready to report, both show up under transfers.

It does look like others are prcessing fine, just these two stuck.

Re: Another upload error - the Big _0_4 files not transfering.

Hmmm...I will need to investigate that further. I wonder if there is something going on with the backend that is limiting the transfer. I'm curious if there is an original file on the server that was cut off during transfer and is now causing issues. The only issue you are having is with a file _4 as the final two characters, correct? Please let me know if the _3 file transferred properly.

These are the two that are stuck in "Transfers", this is what I get when I retry.

It looks like both a 3 and a 4. I have processed 14 other valid results today, it just looks like these two are stuck, others are uploading.

Ubuntu 64 ver 10.04, Boinc 6.10.17, I7-920 if it helps

Re: Another upload error - the Big _0_4 files not transfering.

AT least i'm not the only one with that problem, although this thread was hijacked with the "Servers are down" messages. As the problem still appears i'll give you some more detailled information and edit the title of this thread.
