Morning folks. I've rejoined the team......

i must have missed a lot since i went on vacation. i don't know what made you leave the team (i suppose that if i really wanted to know i could read the back posts, but life is too short). with that said, i'm glad you're back. its hard to find someone who is as dedicated to the cause and does so much to help the team feel like a real team rather than just a bunch of people on the same road. those of us who live the lurker life don't tell you public types thank you for your service nearly enough.

one of the reasons i keep my machines on 24/7 and say bad things about the electric bill when it comes is because i feel a real connection with this group of people. some of the projects piqued my interests enough to participate in them, but honestly many of them i would have passed on and probably would have stopped crunching altogether if it hadn't been for this group of people that i have never met but feel a great affection for.

I remember when i made a trip to Duke University back when Dave was in the VA hospital near there (years ago). i intended to stop by the hospital to visit a man i had never seen before. i was a little bummed that he got out of the hospital the day i flew into town and therefore never got to actually meet him - i was happy for him. What you don't realize is how out of character my visiting him would have been for me, yet it was the camaraderie i felt for him through this group that made me want to step out of my lurker shell and meet him.

our group has been through some trying times since then. people have left and others have come in, but there is still something special about this group that makes me glad i'm still here. i hope you feel the same now that you're back with us. our team needs a team captain who understands how important the team is to so many of us and i think you are the right person for the job.
