"I know that some folks just need a change of scenery at times but trying behind the scenes to convince others to leave with you is an open attack on the team you just left."

?
Who are you accusing? I am not aware of any plotting.

It was not just the events of the past weeks that triggered my decision. What I had in my post were some of the things that occurred over the past 1-2 years. I cannot return to the same thing but I have not ruled out returning. Most importantly, I would have to change and do things differently. In the past, I was too concerned about keeping anyone from leaving the team. I have to recognize that if someone cannot work with the team to its and to their mutual benefit, they probably are on the wrong team. As it normally is in any messy situation, it was only a few that were problematic but that reflects on the team as a whole, especially to someone looking for a team to join. One of the interesting things about the current level of the forum software here now is that you can see who is browsing a thread. Since the software upgrade, I have repeatedly seen quite a few folks browsing our thread that ended up joining other teams. If you look back in the past, we had far more folks returning results each day than we do now. We have very many highly committed members still and some have high-end or multiple machines that return lots of results. Imagine what MOT could be doing if we had been able to keep the active members we had in the past and add those we have now! How we behave here in the team thread and in other forums reflect on the entire team. RT is right though. There is very little I can do to force a person to behave. Still, I ought to have been more aggressive about doing what I could have. I have a few questions that I need to pursue with the admins. With those answered, I will evaluate what my future role will be. MOT is a tremendous team. Just look at what we have accomplished, at the tremendous growth in our productivity. It is challenging to always be clear in a post being limited to just the written word. I am rather adept it seems at being unclear at times. I hope this clarifies things.

As far as I am concerned the Captain's job is yours any time you want it. I am thinking that you were just ticked and venting a bit. Cool down and come on back. hugs

Well, I'm staying for now, barring any other major meltdowns.

In crunching news, I not only got a couple of HFCC betas, I also got a couple of DDDT2 Type A WUs. That means the B's and C's can't be far behind.

Oh, and congrats everyone for hitting the 500 megapoint mark.

I did not get any CEP either. But:

I have a couple of DDDT 2 Type As in the queues I looked at this morning. One has a "to Completion" estimate of 53 hours. The other is underway and with 3.5 hours in, it expects to finish in about 29 more. Both these are on I7-860s
Update: That work unit (DDDT2) that was 3.5 + est 29..is now 8 hours in and and est 8:14 to end. So...it is running faster than it estimated. That 53 hour WU has not yet worked its way to the top of the queue.

In other news, I found this guy that will loan me his state of the art, hottest AMD rig for a bit today. I am going to run some throughput comparisons between it and one of my I7-860s.

Good Morning Friends. coffee coffee

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 44smilesmile

My two DDDT2 WU both arrived with 45+ hour estimates and finished in about 8.5 hours (2.5 GHz C2D). When they validate, I'll be halfway to silver. smile

By hottest AMD rig, do you mean one of the 12-core opteron 6xxx or one of the 6 core Phenom II processors (or more than one socket)? Or do you mean the one that requires the biggest heat sink? laughing laughing

Beats me which one it is since he did not make it today. I think it is the 12 core you reference but until I see it, then I don't know for sure.

That one DDDT2 task took almost exactly 12 hours on that I7-860 with 7 other tasks running simultaneously. I will try to catch the other one and let it run in a core by itself to see how long it takes.
