I have a Compaq AMD64 3300 Machine, not getting any points. I donwloads the WU then finishes it in like 20 seconds, then sends up to the server.
Stats Server is recording the returned results, but getting no points for the effort. I reloaded, ran CHKDSK, killed all the other programs besides the OS. Still same problem. Help Please... |

Hi Dwight
----------------------------------------No 1 - Have you got the no execute protection enabled on Windows Service Pack 2 ? No 2 - Have you got something like McAffee Parental Controls running? No 3 - Are you sure your heatsink is correctly attached (+ not full of dust)? No 4 - Are you overclocking the machine or running your memory sticks at extremely tight timings? Any of the above or a combination will result in the kind of experience you are having. The WCG agent will show up any limitations whatsoever in any of your PC's components as it extracts all the remaining number crunching power from your PC not being put to any other purpose - so it makes for a good stress test of your PC. Post back an let us know how you get on. It's disheartening when you are producing lots of results and getting no points - especially with a monster machine like that. Unfortunately it would seem that at the moment the grid project is not currently getting the benefit of your PC's potential power. Don't worry though there are enough PC Guru's here to sort this one. Best of luck with your crunching. Dave [Edit 1 times, last edit by David Autumns at May 27, 2005 11:21:18 PM] |

Thanks Looks like it was the Data Execution Protection Setting, I had it set to allow all programs, when I changed it, the program worked as advertised.
Thanks Again. Now it looks like I'll be crunching with the other machines at a rate of about 12,000 pnts/day. Ya.... |
