Re: Problem with latest Ubuntu install

One of the cc_config.xml wiki's is already being rewritten to identify non-immediate affecting changes.

Re: Problem with latest Ubuntu install

I downloaded the program for Linux only to discover that there is no program available (on my computer) to open, install it, even though the people at world community grid tells me to follow instructions on forums, long story short, I am frustrated.

Re: Problem with latest Ubuntu install

If you have Ubuntu 8 or higher there is in the System menu somewhere the Synaptic Package Manager. Open that and type BOINC in the search box. If you can't find that look at this link, section 3. This will get the package from the internet for you to install.

http://wiki.debian.org/BOINC

Let us know how it goes.

Re: Problem with latest Ubuntu install

http://wiki.debian.org/BOINC only makes things alot more confusing, reason being, theres many many options to choose from, after clicking at random cause I have no idea what to do here besides guess, I keep getting, wrong architecture, who knows, nothing is simple about installing the BOINC software, what exactly am I supposed to do after going to the site? cause this is getting me no where, is there no just simply click here to install program?
