Keep on crunching! Am in the market for new computer an i7-980 or one of the I believe E54-- series. It seems the E54-- series are just as fast but cheaper. On a Dell Inspiron I have 2 E5440's which is a total of 8 cores and crunches more then my i7-970 with 8 cores. Both have more then enough RAM. So I am trying to built a machine that I can overclock, watercool and cost the least for most crunch. Any ideas?

I like Gigabyte Motherboards--very overclockable and reasonable--the i3 and i7 use hyperthreading--i3 is cheaper but i would go with the i7--here is a good spot--- http://overclock.net/also Newegg has good prices [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 24, 2010 10:53:04 PM] |
