Folding@Home also runs on ATI hardware Yes, but with multiple disadvantages... Like, needing to sacrifize a cpu-core to get half-decent GPU-performance. Needing to fool-around with environmental-variables to get half-decent performance. Even after finding the "sweet" spot, chances are your shiny new Ati-58xx is out-produced by an old Nvidia-8800... If you needs to stop client since you're using computer for something else, like watching video or playing a game, it's a good chance the wu will crap-out on re-start. It's non-BOINC, and client basically only handles upload/download, nothing more advanced, not even caching is possible for FAH. Frankly, if you wants to run Folding@Home, I would rather use the smp-client instead of the Ati-GPU-client, but that's just my recommendation. ![]() ![]() "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." |
