I've crunched various projects since January 2002. Thanks for the e-mail, Movieman. I brought two veteran P4 @2.8, an AMD Athlon⢠X2 4000+, and a Q6600. I'll stay awhile.

Hi Movieman!
----------------------------------------I have (quickly) browsed the excellent thread initiated by sierra bound to ease newcomers joining WCG. It seems that it ignores that registration and/or joining your team can be made much easier if you provide them with the links available at the bottom of your team's Stats Page. With the second one a newcomer can very quickly register and join your team at the same time. From what I have seen in other teams forum it is not exceptional that an occasional raider concentrates on setting and tuning everything fine... and forgets to join the team. Less important, mention of BoincView might be "upgraded" to BoincTasks. Best wishes for your "experiment". Jean. |

Thanks for that Jean, I have added it to our thread, hopefully the author will update the first post because those links are just the simplest way to get people joined
I think this train is going to pick up some real steam tonight when some of the results from new people start to validate. 10 million here we come! ![]() |

You're welcome.
----------------------------------------![]() I had a look at BOINCstats: you have already had 211 new members returning results since April 13. It's a good start. ![]() |

Well done Movieman! Now that we've helped find a potential breakthrough with the FAAH project, it's time for one with the cancer projects! This will certainly help speed that up. We're not in the same league as XS but I'm rather proud that we at MOT have gone from 51 million three years ago to being on pace already for 156 million this year. Not shabby for 35-40 folks on any given day. It all adds up for the real team - Team WCG! |
