In my Work tab, I've got several jobs with Status: Downloading.
In my Transfer tab, I've got several files with status: Download in progress (project withdrawn: 00:07:10) In my Messages tab, I'll find these messages: - Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. - Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site. Now this seems like an easily explainable problem: Server down, hence these messages. But... When I ask for an update, 1 or 2 of these jobs that were stuck, are being downloaded and others are getting the same errors as mentioned before. So my assumption: 1 or more servers are down, but not all. Does this make sense, since some jobs are being downloaded and others not? |

Same assumption here.
Got one CMD2 unit that is trying the download since ages. Manual restart of the download does not show any success. |

Hi,
----------------------------------------this "sporadic" problem has been already addressed several times in the past. My recommendation (it is only my way to solve this problem) is:
More or less, you will find various recommendations to solve this problem. Again, the above drafted way is only my way to bring the system back in a correct working state. Within over three years, I experienced this problem around 2 or 3 times yearly on different hosts, using different operating systems, running different projects. I never was able to find out the proper root cause. I observed only that a simple host reboot is not sufficient for transmitting the blocked WUs. Cheers, Yves |

@KerSamson,
Unfortunately, it's not on just 1 system which is causing this problem. I've checked 6 of my 14 systems and they all have this problem. So it's safe to say it's not just a matter of rebooting a client (or I should reboot all my systems). In the mean time, I'll switch to another project and hopefully we'll have the answer tomorrow. |

I'm having the same problem. Just tried rebooting my computer and it didn't help. Have been able to upload completed tasks without a problem while the download is stuck.
Tried aborting the download since it was only one task and obviously hadn't started yet, so no work lost, but next downloads (both HCMD2) are stuck now, too. So I don't recommend that! |

Again: Same observation here as described by Sander1974.
Rebooting does not bring success. Also I do not have more luck with manual start of the transfer. Work units of all other projects are up-/downloading normally. |

We are working on this now. It is an error on our side. Some files were flagged as compressed but weren't actually. The client is trying to decompress them but getting an error.
----------------------------------------We have started running a script to identify those files and compress them properly. It will take an hour or two to run. [Edit 1 times, last edit by knreed at Apr 8, 2010 10:03:02 PM] |

I will have my clients run HFCC for this night and tomorrow I'll switch them back to HCMD2. |

Have a few of the above and also the same with faah.
Is it best just to wait for the script or do these downloads need to be aborted? have used 'no more tasks' for the moment thanks Chris. |

Once the script finishes the workunits will be good to download and process. If you are idle, then you can go ahead and abort although that will just transfer the download wait to another member.
I may have been a bit optimistic in how long it will take to search the drives. It might be another couple of hours yet. |
