still no dengue, but I got a Beta for each core (8)!!! Same over here on 2 of my machines: a total of 8 Beta's. When they get out of PV, I'll finally make it to bronze. |

Insert itching powder? I knew you could be cruel, but never guessed the full extent!
Nah Jack, I wasn't referring to you. Your post truly amused me ![]() Beta's have also arrived on my boxes, but it's DDDT2 that I'd like to upgrade faster. |

Franky, I do not think that anyone can attract a sufficient number of volunteers to join astrolab's idea of a community grid; and if it matters to you, yes, that is my opinion. Still, I suggest that you stay away else disassociate yourself from that kind of a community grid or the idea thereof. You completely missed the point I was making. I was explaining how WCG operates, not how a competing system would work. If you are simply wishing that WCG did not operate in the way I explained, then you are free to dream. |

I'd like to add a great big "Thank-you" to the techs for the modification to the beta process limiting distribution to one per thread. While, of course, badges and the like are trivial to the overall purposes of the grid, it has always been frustrating when betas went by where I got none, and this seems to have really helped with this problem. So ... to tie it back to the discussion / bickering going on in this thread ... while I agree with astrolab that getting the science done has to be the first priority of the techs, I have been truly impressed with how much time & effort they have been able to give to improving the experience for us crunchers as well! Thanks again. (Hopefully this "fix" for intermittment work can also be applied to DDDT2 and/or work will start to flow steadily soon)

Hello astrolab
Reference: Your [Apr 13, 2010 12:01:43 PM] post You completely missed your own point. WCG does not operate under the concepts you have described and that is: WCG showed willingness to respond to cruncher concerns -- a sensitivity that is outright dismissed in what you wish a community grid ought to be; in what you wish WCG should have operated. I need not wish that WCG did not operate in the way you explained, for WCG is already operating in a way a good community grid operates: sensitivity and responsiveness to cruncher demands under a democratic space. And that is far from what you wish WCG would have operated. Good day ; |

Hm,
As I understand it, then this "fix" is implemented for DDDT2 for now. I might be wrong though, but it explains how I got some A and B work units before. |
