Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Yeah...all of these WU's so far were over exaggerated on needed time. Every computer I had running them crunched them in like a fourth of the time they initially claimed.

The first of the WUs, ts05_e077_ps0000, completed in only 11.12 hours. It looks like the second will take about the same amount of time. The time on the BOINC display is way off.

But for one, it appears this rain between interludes was refreshing.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

I was examining the work unit I completed that is in PV status and the other replication is still in progress. It seems the time being given for completion of the WU is too long for type A WUs. If these WUs are for creating type WUs etc. I would think the time allowed for completion should be half of what is normally allowed to improve the turn around time (TAT). Any comments?

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

This rain happened on 7/22 and 7/23, and now it appears we are back to a dry spell. How long will it be before we get any new work for type B or type C, or even type A?

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

dkt,

They are circulated only to devices that meet the high priority mark i.e. < 2 days return time. This is dictated by assigning an artificial 20 day standard deadline, which then due the priority code 10 causes them to only get 8 days, which then steps them ahead of the queue on the servers, in short whilst the deadlines seem rich, those that do not tweak their buffers up to fill loads in when actually circulated, will all return them in a fairly short period and remember, these are grouped in lots of 25 10, so the techs dont have to wait for the last return to be able to send the batches back to the scientists for review and B/C generation.

Now, we know about the dry spells. When uplinger has more tasks I'm sure he will let all impatient know, but plz let him do the job.

edit: batches were reduced to 10 per later post in this thread by uplinger :D

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Wow this is the first time I have completely failed
at setting out my buckets, I timed it poorly, then on
the second half didn't set my buckets out cuz I wasn't
reading the forums... such a slacker.
But as luck will have it caught 2 by accident. One ended
in error sadly, the other 10 hours later was done.
Well I officially am over it. I have gold (on both Dengue 1 & 2)
so they match lol,
I will keep it checked of course in case it starts resembling
a 'normal' project, but I'm not going to stress about it.
If the scientists are happy with the results as they are coming,
then I am happy. At least until i have all blues...

Edit: In case I was unclear, I'm not whining about anyone's work wink

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

For the stattists, from feeder to validator, 3,507 A-Type results validated from the last 2 back to back precipitations through Sunday lunchtime. These have an average run time 0f 11.54 hours. Can't remember whether the total was mentioned that went into the hopper but there being ts05_a through ts05_f.

Got 1 of 7 in PV now, pretty neat working out at 20 credit per hour as by product for almost 100 closer to the gold standard. biggrin

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

I'm still chewing on my last of 9. In the future I won't allow linux to grab these. I think it's slower than Windows for DDDT2. From now on Linux will be just for CE2P and HCC.
