sorry mark, but all present WU for this project has already been sent out. If you are really really lucky you might get one of those that either error out or took too long

dkt, They are circulated only to devices that meet the high priority mark i.e. < 2 days return time... I would like to know why my devices do not meet high priority. The only time I increased the size of my que was to make sure I had enough work to reach a checkpoint. I have only only gotten two type A WUs for this project and they were completed within a day. ![]() |

dkt,
----------------------------------------From what I have been reading, the people who have been getting many WU for this project in the last few days were the people who were actively seeking out WU. What I mean is these people (myself included) increase their cache at during the small window when WCG was sending out packets. If you weren't doing this, your computer will normally only ask for 1 or 2 WU at a time every X minutes. ![]() |

But for one, it appears this rain between interludes was refreshing. ts05_ f088_ ps0000_ 1-- 1292373 Pending Validation 7/23/10 20:21:07 7/25/10 17:17:37 13.08 326.3 / 0.0 ts05_ d166_ ps0000_ 1-- 95711 Valid 7/23/10 19:18:55 7/25/10 13:49:29 16.65 167.1 / 169.8 ts05_ d162_ ps0000_ 0-- 95711 Valid 7/23/10 19:18:42 7/25/10 09:19:03 16.67 167.3 / 192.1 ts05_ f073_ ps0000_ 0-- 1292373 Valid 7/23/10 20:20:46 7/25/10 04:29:21 13.00 314.8 / 276.0 ts05_ f058_ ps0000_ 0-- 1292373 Valid 7/23/10 20:20:23 7/24/10 10:59:32 13.41 303.0 / 264.4 ts05_ a196_ ps0000_ 0-- 1292373 Valid 7/22/10 22:52:29 7/23/10 20:12:29 13.13 323.6 / 160.9 ts05_ f104_ ps0000_ 1-- 1292373 Valid 23-7-10 20:21:29 25-7-10 18:45:27 13.20 329.2 / 197.2 10% left to do on the last one. I'm still chewing on my last of 9. In the future I won't allow linux to grab these. I think it's slower than Windows for DDDT2. From now on Linux will be just for CE2P and HCC. <ot>Can't say to be able to second that motion. DDDT2 A-Type had quite small elapsed/cpu time differential for such a big model. If you have a multiple devices one could boot them into the platform that performs best for a given science, but on dual boot, the loss of progress flip flopping is probably greater. Think Jean found that FAAH/DDDT/HFCC ran faster too on Linux, certainly can't complain for what was seen under the last Beta for HFCC, and when looking at the CPU efficiency of HCMD2, that's mighty fine and dandy too. Whether CEP2 will run slower or faster on Linux remains to be seen as we have no Windows/Mac comparative data. As mentioned several times, lets hope one day WCG can determine automatically, on opt-on "give me best/fastest/most efficient for my rig".</ot>

Sek,
You are correct in that some have been transferred to the researchers already. From my count, 44 batches (grouped in sizes of 10 work units per batch) have completed. 13 more are waiting to be packaged later today. And I have emailed the researchers to see what their plans are. There were over 260 batches sent out this time, so the researchers will probably get back 20 batches per day. So they might wait before creating the next set of work units. Anyways, this group of work went well. Thank you to all who have helped. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Pretty neat, since per lunchtime 4,395 validated of what I then make out to be 5,200 in this run (without counting repairs). 5,200 then makes 10,400 B types to look forward to.

Sekerob, this may have been answered a long time ago, but can you explain the difference between type A, B, and C? Do B & C use less memory? Has less runtime? And what is the link between them?
