Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Sorry i know there are several threads where my post would have been more appropriate ;)
@Sekerob: my units reserve about 530M memory for each of my 2 cores. i can't really tell for sure how much they actually consume because i have only one c-type left in cache right now, but i think i've seen some units actually consuming up to 500M. but that might have been a-types, not sure. "waiting for memory" would probably not work for me, as i keep suspended/waiting wu's in memory (because i think the leap-backs to the last restore point is quite a waste of runtime). however, i have my app switch time value set so high that there are no automatical switches between running work units. i had some units crashed and errored once, but that was because of my settings + having several wu's running and too many suspended units in cache - i did so in order to avoid server aborts for 0% progress units during the next upload ;)

@h.hett: You might try expanding your virtual memory (Virtueller Arbeitsspeicher). Spybot shouldn't be the problem, if at all, it's Spybot's real-time scanner "Teatimer".

I'll post my firewall-settings in Sekerob's thread linked above.

Yes, 530Mb is about the Swap File size use seen on C-Type, 540Mb peak seen on B-Type and 730Mb on A-Type, which is not RAM. See the matrix for the RAM/VM and other parts used by A/B/C: http://worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=17855 For me Swap File (VM) is not critical, rather the RAM use. As said it's relatively small long as the VM can freely expand when needed by the task.

[ot]On Teatimer several have reported issues with this app such as very high CPU time consumption [only when BOINC is running?]. I just run AdAware and Spybot periodically via the Windows scheduler and further rely on Windows Defender, the AV and Firewalls and the add-ons in the Firefox web-browser, not using IE at all.[/ot]

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

X-Files, I am waiting on some numbers of success/error/not returned/etc/etc/etc...I was hoping to have some good data on Monday, but will check into this here in a bit. I'll release them if I get good information and will try to keep everyone informed depending on what happens.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

uplinger, thanks for the info. I hope the numbers would lean towards success than errors.

Think I do not prefer rain, rather drizzle... as the saying goes, you get much wetter from latter, chances much greater there is at least a few in the queue.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

As you know, we in the UK prefer drizzle to downpours, especially US evening downpours.
