Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

@pirogue:
We need a new thread...It rained Dengue and they were mostly Duds.
We already have one, started by STARBASEn: DDDT2 Type C -- Possible bad batches.
Everybody: Check there and decide where to post ... this discussion is split, as has been noted before.
---
@judson Somerville MD and Jack007: If you do get some of these WUs as repeats, they will also error out and you'll have wasted another 16MB of download bandwidth on each. Put your umbrellas up until the problem is fixed.

Just returned the last WU's of last rainfall. biggrin
I have had quiet a few errors; wu's ran less than a second. sad

Let's hope that won't delay that much. I still count on some rain sometime tomorrow.

Until then i'll do some HCC cool

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Well...
I'll post here cuz most of the rain has been ok.
I had 5 PR errors, and a dozen or so have been
valid or pending validation, normal runs so far.
I have another dozen yet to do, I'll take the good
with the bad.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Well, the all the WU's that I gathered from the latest 2 showers, are now back on the WCG servers biggrin

58 C types & 1 B type - with the following results;
5 in error (all the 'pr' types)
21 in PV, and 33 valid.

Bring on the next wave wink

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

i had 35 b & c units, none of them returned an error message. dddt2 may produce some false positive wus, but if anyone of you has a big lot of error results, i'd suggest the following:
1) dddt2 consumes a lot of ram, make sure you have enough ram/virtual ram. maybe you should even make sure not to have passive wu's in ram (i.e. units "waiting to run" with "leave apps in memory while suspended" option checked).
2) make sure your firewall/security software grants dddt2 apps full access rights.
so long, bring in the raindancers.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Interesting, but jobs should pause "waiting for memory" if such a shortage should occur. I've had 4 A's run concurrently and not seen this. B and C by comparison are peanuts [see the Matrix FAQ for full run time observed actuals], 15Mb to 35Mb for B-Type and 23Mb / 43Mb for C type, in RAM use. A-Type I've seen maxing at 210Mb RAM use. It's smaller than HCC, though I must admit not to have updated since the version 6.08 was released... seeing 35Mb RAM peak with 74Mb VM for one currently running on my quad.

edit: On occasion of another thread, I've started a new topic on AV/Firewall exemptions for BOINC. Please contribute yours here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,28865

thanks.

h.hett,

The RAM is not big enough? Not able to do a Spybot scan? Please post screenshot to document. I've just updated the matrix and the absolute top RAM use for any DDDT2 I've seen is 210Mb, B/C type small by comparison... see my post above yours. Is there a mix-up between RAM and VM/Swap file? Is that allowed to grow large enough? Mine is set to go as big as it wants and can using the free disk space [150Gb].

I wait now and i stoppt all other Programms.

Greetings to all and thank you once more. The biggest Problem is the language for me.

Ok, it means on my Task manager : 2,82 GB Auslagrungsdatei. I dont no the name for it in english.

Sekerob, must not answer. Wen i have finish the Wus from Cache, it will go on. Looking forward in hope.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Auslagerungsdatei is superb German direct meaning as to what it does. Swapping out parts of what's in RAM to disk. With 2Gb RAM, about a factor 1.5 for the Virtual Memory is the expected size on windows.

Feel free to write in German if you please and put an English version underneath as some French posters do. This way if something gets lost in translation, we can always revert to the original language. Collectively the CA's speak/read/write quite a few, just not yet Farsi. Else other members will surely jump in to assist.
