Re: c-types arrived

There is no new work at this time, but resends and make-up work are still happening, these are very few though...so if you only have this project selected you'll get no new work available.

Don't worry uplinger it is not the only one selected, so no problem. I do select one unique project only when all my machines can fill a one day buffer full of that project WU's.
Exception for Beta's being as you know a very special case that need appropriate and delicate personal handling. wink

Let's pray then, until you will make rain WU's on us praying praying praying

Re: c-types arrived

Are the initial high estimated completion times an attempt to spread the work out more evenly and keep people from scooping up a whole lot of WU's at once?

If so, I like it. Good creative use of programming! biggrin

I think its because of the new binary.

Re: c-types arrived

The slow ones: run time 1.20 hours, progress: none, remaining: 201 hours...

It's terrible in my opinion.
I have a remote machine running 24/7 but which is not always connected, and now it will run out of work as it has a false work queue.
What a waste.

Doesn't help queue management on my local farm either.
Hoping it is corrected pronto.

edit: I suspect it will smash the DCF as well.

Actually, the DCF has not been too much destroyed. Probably because the WUs were so severely overstimated that BOINC has reflected them only partially in the DCF.

I have got 2 type C-pr which were sized for 20 hours by the staff, i.e. 30 hours in my list since the DCF was already at 1.5.
Finally they have completed after about 1.6 hours and the the DCF is only 2.1 now. Fine.

Still I hope that they will be sized better the next time. smile

Re: c-types arrived

The big upside is that WU's have been available to all crunchers for about a 5-hour window now.

Hopefully this will lessen some of the grumbling about not being able to get a DDDT2 WU for their machines.
