I've tried everything I can find-- FAQs, browsing forums, asking on other forums, oogle, etc.

Why not post the message log from the start instead of these little snippets so we can see how BOINC records things from the beginning. Think the better place is to join the forums where they actual deal with GPU crunching as an active project. Here it's mostly theory.
