Does anyone know the trick to getting this card to work with Boinc 6.10.18 on Windows 7 x64?
----------------------------------------I've updated to the latest Nvidia drivers and I still get the "No usable GPUs found" message. Every list of compatible GPUs I've found has this one listed, but I can't get it to work. |

I understand that. I was hoping that someone might be doing other Boinc work and have some insight.

Have you looked over this site?
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/GPU_computing You have to have the correct video drivers installed. |

Hello pirogue. First, I am not familiar with this card but, as I remember, it was designed as a CAD/CAM card and may not be supported by BOINC. If you have checked this out and are certain it is supported, here are some other things to consider:
----------------------------------------1, Are you certain you loaded the 64-bit driver for Win7?: 2. Did you load the CUDA tool kit containing the CUDA 2.3 dll’s? 3 Have you checked to see that Win7 does not have a problem with the card? (control panel>device manager) 4.Is this the only vid card on the MoBo? If no, did you check the NVIDIA Control Panel to see if there is a problem and that all displays are defined to NVIDIA? There is always a possibility that the card is defective. A long time ago I got a GTX8800 that displayed video just fine but BOINC would not detect it. I RMA’ed to the manufacture and the new one worked just fine Last, you may want to post your problem on the BOINC forum and/or GPUGrid forum. You can also look here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/GPU_computing I hope this helps. Good luck! ![]() ![]() |

Have you looked over this site? It's in the list of compatible devices and I downloaded and installed the latest drivers today.http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/GPU_computing You have to have the correct video drivers installed. I installed the driver and double-checked the compatibility list before asking for help. |

I thought the toolkit was for developing. I just installed and it still doesn't work. 3. It shows up with no exclamation (or whatever Win7 uses) 4. 1 video card I guess I'll try one of the other forums. I really didn't want to have to keep track of another account. |

Quadro boards are different and they have different drivers. The performance of the same type GPU on a quadro board and on a mainstream GEForce board is also very different on software like 3dsMax. I have tested the 280, 285 Nvidia boards with Seti and had no trouble at alll. The GPU was recognized immediately and activated.
----------------------------------------Check, in your message list, when you start Boinc if you have the following line (or something similar) in the message list: NVIDIA GPU 0: QUADRO XXXX (Driver Version XXXXXXX, Cuda Version XXXXX, compute capability X.X, XXXXXMB, XXXX GFLOPS peak) ![]() |

That's what I want to see.
----------------------------------------All I'm getting is a "No usable GPUs found" message. I've found 1 log that has what I want to see, but it looks like it's running 32-bit XP: 22-9-2009 18:10:03 Local time is UTC +2 hours |

Sorry that didn't help, pirogue.
