Greetings all,
This is the official statement saying there is an estimated 30 days left of new work to be sent out. The project is expected to have an additional 3 weeks to clean up the remaining batches after that. The last batch of work units from the researchers are 00627 which has been built and loaded earlier today. Thank you again for all your help with this project! Let me know if you have any questions. -Uplinger |

And I'm sure already everyone will want to know when NRW2 will start! And I'm sure you don't know, so *I'm* not asking! Ha Ha!

I just read there are no plans for NRW2, so I retract my non-question!

Take all your system(s) and multiply days short*24 hours*system efficiency*cores/7 hours and you'll know how many to crunch. Needing 12.32 days here for next level... started planning in October ;>)

Sekerob, by "system efficiency" do you mean processor speed? I'm not sure

No, it's the ratio of CPU time on the wallclock versus what the CPU is really giving to the Task. See the BOINCTasks example above. This multi-client manager also shows this real time cumulative for the full job duration (Active Tasks window). Momentarily the different tasks on my quad run at 90 to 98 percent efficiency, depending on which core gets loaded with other things by the OS. As per previous post I computed 83% for your laptop [7:01 hours / 8:30 hours]
----------------------------------------edit: Think you're better off to put the CPU back to maximum cycle and let the TThrottle utility written for BOINC manage the computing time. You only need to set the target temperature. Then at night things will run a little faster than during the day when u use the machine and the sun is out.
