Same goes for Italy, zika has hit here with now the Guillain Barré syndrom / muscle-nerve attacking decease also being strongly associated with the virus. Surprisingly the virus is known since half a century and the link already published on at least as early as march 2014 regarding french Polynesian cases of Dec.2013 : http://www.eurosurveillance.org/ViewArticle.aspx?ArticleId=20720
----------------------------------------Was watching The Blacklist, how a pharmaceutical had the cure, and let the a [fictitious] decease spread. A scary thought. Scegli has been subpoenaed over the 5000% price rise for a long used medicine, and more and more cases known of [generic] medicine going suddenly in short supply. More scary thoughts. Edit: To add, "Sera from both patients exhibited cross-reactivity with dengue virus antigens." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25600600 [Edit 2 times, last edit by SekeRob* at Jan 24, 2016 10:36:30 PM] |

Zika virus moves closer to U.S.-Videos-CBS News
Dr. Jon LaPook explains how an infected mosquito bites a person in Brazil, that person comes to the United States with the virus in their bloodstream where it stays for a week. Then, an uninfected mosquito bites that person, becomes infected turns around and bites another person infecting that person spreading the virus in the US. http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/zika-virus-cases-move-closer-to-the-u-s/ |

Is not that simple "an uninfected mosquito". It's as yet one of a particular genus far as I understand

Can CRISPR help edit out female mosquitoes?
The recent discovery of the male-determining factor in mosquitoes, combined with the gene-editing capabilities of the CRISPR-Cas9 system, could be used to bias mosquito populations from deadly, blood-sucking females toward harmless, nectar-feeding males, thus helping to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/02/160217125535.htm |
