Re: DDDT2 Project Recognition Thread

[ot]Your sig is looking ever more "Magnificent". Think there are more than a few who're drooling over this. A manual "How did I do that" is called for in ever more crescendo ** tones. Would becoming a team member of TSF get me access to the code? Imagine 18274 free advertisements, left right and center on the WCG forums... :P

** from the Italian "crescere" ... Growing[/ot]

[OT] Sekerob,
Thanks for the compliments. Joining TSF certainly wouldn't hurt our team biggrin , but not at all needed to get access to my signature code. I would be happy to try and get it working for you, although I'm sure there will be some bumps in the road. For starters you need Internet Explorer and IrfanView. Then there are some issues I need to solve to make the code totaly generic. Most annoying being the fact that there's no way to know via "My Grid" which country I'm crunching for. It's only in "My Profile" and that's where the script hits a login screen. But I'll find a way around all of this I'm sure.
Now I have something to add to my code. That's cool because I was just running out of more things to add to it wink . I'll get back to you when I have something ready.[/OT]

[OT2] Am I missing something or is there no way to send other forum members personal messages? That way I wouldn't have to put all this off-topic stuff here [/OT2]

Re: DDDT2 Project Recognition Thread

<ot>I've got a very special email... no there is no PM facility at WCG, but if you're the team captain you can send mail to your team members and they can respond. But, don't hesitate to start a topic in the chat room ;>)</ot>

Re: DDDT2 Project Recognition Thread

Based on the flows recorded for past 6 days I'd say we'll be seeing non stop supply at this pace for at least the next 10-14 days.

12th 4306
13th 13723
14th 18013
15th 20229
16th 26851
17th 28434 (projected)

That's 111,000 validated (for 36 CPU years), and another half in PV (big thumb). How much in client caches is anybody's guess, for the techs to know. Uplinger wrote in that he's releasing additionally 2x83,000 which then also comes with about 4-5% in make-ups. In all should things dry up with this ts run, we'll probably have done 125-150 CPU years worth, very ballpark. As for 'ts', don't know if the full sweet is run to simulate a complete target. Very slowly we're creeping towards the million results as was forecasted for a single target.

Sit back, relax, DDDT2 is not going away.

I do not know that I agree with you that there is a "non-stop" supply!

I am getting the following message frequently on my 20 Windowss machines:

8/17/2010 4:24:10 PM World Community Grid Message from server: No work can be sent for the applications you have selected
8/17/2010 4:24:10 PM World Community Grid Message from server: No work is available for Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 (Type A)
8/17/2010 4:24:10 PM World Community Grid Message from server: You have selected to receive work from other applications if no work is available for the applications you selected
8/17/2010 4:24:10 PM World Community Grid Message from server: Sending work from other applications

It looks like only 50% of the time I am getting DDDT2 WUs even though I only have DDDT2 as the only project selected.

On the other hand, for my 5 Ubuntu machines with CEP2 selected as the only project, 100% of the WUs are CEP2.

Finally got my RUBY! But I seem to only be getting DDDT2 WUs about a 50% of the time, even though it is my only project selected.

Re: DDDT2 Project Recognition Thread

mclaver et al,

Let's try again: DDDT2 is low weight and thus there is a limited slot number assigned in the shared memory (SM). If the client happens to ask for work when those slots are empty or filled with other work, then the client tries again in a random rational logical order. Before the SM there is the Feeder and that one is having work ready to go... kind of a conveyor belt running and the gate keeper only letting 5 in instead of 10... so there is work enough for the exclusives, where initially filling cache takes longer, but once filled, the time it takes to complete one is from my observation one done, 1 new received. If it annoys seeing those red lines, don't look, and when you're sharing with projects outside of WCG, then the client will go out to fetch work there. The marching order then should could be to suspend workfetch for those projects so that DDDT2 does get full attention.

Re: DDDT2 Project Recognition Thread

<-- I'm feeling blue! biggrin I've deselected DDDT2 for now so others can persue their badges. I'll be back when these WU's are in more abundant supply. I have a personal goal of 10 years runtime in each project, 20 if I can muster it. smile
