congratz pirogue, not many ppl have those sapphires. yeah the PV jail time has been is absurd for the last few days, I have so many WU's in PV that I am beginning to worry about what is the max WU's in PV that will be displayed (almost 840 as of now, 460 for DDDT2, never had this many before -- it is about 1.5 days work) Thanks. 840 is a lot!P.S. That old green skeeter from DDDT1 is really sticking out like a sore thumb. I suppose there's still a glimmer of hope to upgrade as long as DDDT1 is listed as an intermittent project. glimmer .That would really start putting resources thin in the pool. Keep that box ticked, but frankly that might be more probable towards the halfway end of DDDT2, after the output and hits have been evaluated of the (known) 18 targets.

I have also noticed that Boinc normally doesn't try to communicate unless its looking for work. So for people like me who bumped to a 5 day cach then back down to there 0.5 day we have to manualy upload work units when we remember to check (found 15+ hours of completed results on each of my computers). assuming my situation is not unique expect there to be lots of pending validation while we sort through the WU's. Not to mention the ones that on other peoples computers will time out cause they grabbed too many. good luck and i hope the rain continues ![]() |

Finally made it to Ruby. Seems like there are still lots of WU so I'm crunching toward green and hoping the rain keeps coming.

You have to do nothing of the sorts, manually uploading, nasher. One of the client rules is that RtR's are cleared no later than 24 hours after the result files have transferred. At that point all RtR's go along, when 23 hours old or 5 minutes old. Why is that: The client tries to optimize and minimize scheduler contacts, the most taxing part of the BOINC system. One of the developers once computed that the cost of a manual connect is USD 10.--, for the direct and indirect. Adds up. 10 days deadlines is for a reason, factored into the process. You PV will clear... they all do statistically for > 90% within 4 days.

No, I'm saying nothing of the kind. You already self diagnosed that because there is no work requesting, there is no reporting, nor there is any immediate need as there is not any form of deadline threat. When you don't change your cache the work requests are combined with the RtR reporting... 1 scheduler transaction instead of 2... be it 0.5 day cache of 5 day cache.
----------------------------------------cost: well, you've only scratched the surface... there's this odd thought that came across from the US: What's for free does not cost and when it was planned to cost it would not cost... soft dollars he called it. Had me astounded. Anyway, I had it bookmarked for those interested: http://www.romwnet.org/dasblogce/PermaLink,gu...61-a883-18ffad817094.aspx ... sorry, it was scenario one costing 11 dollars, the more optimized costing $3.40, Inflation has since moved 4 years on. The spiel closed off with: So be kind to your project(s), let BOINC report the results in batches. The project admin's will be able to support more people and more machines with the same hardware. The last line is the important one, no matter how cheap it comes. (to IBM about several millions US annual).
