Re: What Projects are you crunching here at WCG

Now that I hit 5 years in HPF2, I am spreading my attention between CEP2, FAAH, and DSFL. Trying to get all my projects to 5 years.

DSFL until I hit 2yr. CEP if I ever get any, until I hit 2yr (or the project ends, whichever comes first). Then back to HCMD (when it comes back) and a mix of the small-molecule docking ones which are my preferred projects.

Re: What Projects are you crunching here at WCG

(1) DSFL until reaching 8 years (6 yrs to go), and
(2) CEP2 til 4 yrs (1 yr to go) - then C4CW til 8 yrs

Currently crunching HCC... trying to make it to the gold before it goes away (according to the WCG dashboard there's only 72 52 days left aprox). After that, I will tackle the HFCC for the gold also.

Keep on crunching !!!

Re: What Projects are you crunching here at WCG

DSL seems still to have lower feeder priority because of the errors with some WU's. That's why you are getting much less DSL in comparison to HFCC which has normal priority.
To get more DSL you could create a profile for DSL only and assign some of your hosts to this profile. That's what I'm doing - at the moment first part of my hosts doing only DSL, second part - only CEP2.
If you have more than one PC it works pretty well wink

I do have multiple pc's but kind of wanted them all to get more DSL units but also other units too, hmm. I was hoping for a % I could set for each Project but I guess it isn't there. Thanks.

No, there isn't a percentage for each project, but some juggling can be done with the four BOINC device profiles, Default, home, school and work.

The names can't be changed and there are only four, but that helps a little.

Assign different computers with different projects to different profiles. I have one computer doing only HCC on "home" and and another doing 5 different projects on "Default". You could do 1 to a few on one and 1 to a few of something else on another and some projects could even be overlapped.

You can force DSL on one computer on one profile, regardless of the feeder priority, and use other computers for something else on another profile.

Caution: When only running one project, watch closely so that you don't get zero work. To minimize this problem, I always have an extra day or two of work in the additional work buffer in the network area of BOINC preferences.

You can change each device profile independently but be careful not to do an overall project change or it will take precedence and override.

HFCC - almost at 8yrs, want 10

Also waiting for HCMD and DDDT2 to bump them from 5yrs -> 10.

Will upgrade DSFL during the wait.
