Updated to the recommend version. Crashes after a few WU's get done. This one not stable for the mac?

What version you're talking about Bearcat? No I do not deem 6.10 as stable for general circulation, and those for Mac certainly should try 6.10.29 if they're on 6.10.21

Am using 6.2 . This is what I found in the FAQ. Is this not the recommended version?

Bearcat,
----------------------------------------Yes, 6.2.18 is the one... so next question... what OS-X? Snow Leopard 10.6? Sometimes it feels, no don't take it personal, but it's like pulling teeth with bare hands. I lack any skill of clairvoyancy and failed good start of this Q&A :|. Getting maximum info from the start in a support request speeds things along for the support seeker quite nicely. So, if you post the start up message log of BOINC we get most the basic info, preferably a good bit from the stdoutdae.txt file that is lodged in the data_dir (path/location printed in the start up message log of BOINC). In that file there might be entries as to why it start crashing and what's crashing... BOINC or the Science applications?

Well its running with no crashes lately so will wait and watch it for awhile to see if any more problems arise. One thing I am noticing is the problem with monster WU's with the cancer project. Wingman is about one third the time of my WU's. Upgraded boinc and the problem persists so changed to HCMD2. Upon downloading, these units still showed 16+ hours to crunch but the next morning, they are adjusted to about 7 hrs. Is this something to do with OS X Leopard (not snow leopard) or boinc? Have never seen this before and my 8 core pc doesn't do this.

Just looked at my mac and the wu's are adjusted again to a little over 2 hrs to do. Plan on finishing what i have, then uninstall/reinstall to see if this fixes it. This is beginning to get frustrating.

Bearcat, although I'm not the person who can help you (I've never worked on a Mac), by following Sekerob's request (i.e. pasting the information he's requested into this thread), could well be able to relieve you of your frustrations - as the techs here are pretty good (and, if they can't help, I'm sure either another cruncher or one of the techs will be able to).

I uninstalled and reinstalled this morning. If I still have problems, I'll get back.

Its running fine since the reinstall. One thing weird is my wu's seem to readjust their time while waiting to get crunched. Its not crashing so I'll leave it alone.

That's correct. Each time a task finishes for a grid, a new Duration Correction Factor is computed and applied to all tasks in the buffer [for that particular DC grid]... for each longer than task header estimated fpops taking run, the value goes up aggressively, for each faster, it is slowly brought down. All to prevent over-committing of a device.
----------------------------------------edit: it's on a DC Grid projects basis, not all projects!
