Errors
Nearly all Results of one Device from me result in Erroros (Since Jan 28th)

Example Result Log:

The Error-Message is always the same!

This happens at HCC and HCMD2.... other Projects i do not calculate rigth now.....

I restarted the pc, i reinstalled Boinc-Manager, i re-run the Memory-Test, ....

My other 2 Devices do not result in Errors - can someone please help me?

Too many exits means that the jobs are restarting all the time. When that happens 100 times BOINC will exit the job... something on your computer. Start with going to the BOINC Manager and on the Activity menu choosing Run Always if it's not on that option.

Did you compare the BOINC preferences of a working client with the problem client?

Please post your message log from the start to where you see restarts of tasks.

Too many exits means that the jobs are restarting all the time. When that happens 100 times BOINC will exit the job... something on your computer. Start with going to the BOINC Manager and on the Activity menu choosing Run Always if it's not on that option.

I already had this option activated.

Did you compare the BOINC preferences of a working client with the problem client?

All my Devices run on the same preferences - the error occured from one day to another - i changed nothing! That´s why i´m so confused about this error...

Please post your message log from the start to where you see restarts of tasks.

Sorry but where do i see the Restart of Tasks?

Open BOINC Manager, in simple view there's a message button bottom right left, in advanced view there is a messages tab. Just go to the top, select everything down to where jobs commence restarting, hit the copy selected messages button on left and paste to post.

It does and it doesn't so probably later we'll want to add some log flags.

First, I don't like your data_dir location. Why did you put it in temporary data?:

02.02.2010 08:43:38||Data directory: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\xxxxx.yyyyy\Desktop\Tempi\Bo

Uninstall, do not delete anything manually, and reinstall. Look carefully and take the advanced options in the installer, to change the data location, NOT the program location, to C:\ProgramData\BOINC

It will not be the cause if it was like that before on this and your other clients but putting a life data directory on your desktop is not a best practice.

edit: The log itself says your settings are fine, so now let it run until you see these messages in the client log. Could be your Antivirus interfering [what brand?], so excluding the ProgramData\BOINC location from scanning is a good and SAVE idea.

OK! Thank you a lot!

I changed the path (without reinstall - this is my PC at work so i do not have the right to install anything) so i simpls moved the directory...

Because of the Company-Rights i am not able to exclude the Boinc-Software from Antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.4000.2295) but i can see the Log-File - nothing blocked!

I will post the updatet Log-File of Boinc tomorrow in the Morning (Mornign for me - right now - 2 hrs)

Okay and hmmm on the company PC part. Plz be responsible, if you have no rights, is your boss okay you do that within the IT policies?

Moving the data dir manually with 6.10.18 is interesting. I know how to do that and how to tell BOINC where to look for it, to include a registry hack needed with 6.10. Is the data in a subdir to the BOINC programs? The path in your log looks cut off.

I will ignore your first 2 Questions cause i don´t wanna hit my own knee (if you know what i mean)...

Moving Boinc manually and start it manually does work fine - The data is in Subdirectories of Boinc...

As i mentioned - until Jan 28th everything went fine (for about 2 years now)

I willl review the logfile - and after uploading the next result i will post the logfile again...
