Is it worth me updating the Clients ? & if so which version has so far been most stable?

No need to upgrade the client, it has nothing to do with this annoying problem.
If HCC is fine for you simply go on with it, there are enough members wanting Rice WUs for completing this project as planned in the coming weeks.

If you really wish to find an explanation copy/paste one of your Result Logs in error in your next post for us to see if it is same as previous error reports. But it's possible that these errors remain a mystery so close to the end of the project.

Thanks for your comments, I will continue with HCC - as you say Rice is nearing it's end & there's plenty of crunchers out there.

So I will do what's most productive - after all that's the whole point, isn't it.
