Can anyone shed any light on why I have now had three recent WU's return with Inconclusive tags rather than the usual 'Pending Validation'; 'Valid' etc tags? The 'Inclusive' tag first appeared about three weeks/a month ago - just one WU had the badge - but I've now had three in a row on two different machines today - only on HFCC WU's - I am running mixed units from five projects. I've had loads of errors on HPF, but that is another thread in another place....I haven't noticed Inconclusive on any other WU's.
----------------------------------------Are there other crunchers who have instances of Inconclusive results?? I'd be interested to know anything about this....and whether the points will count, or not.....!!! Regards John ![]() |

I've had several workunits that were marked Inconclusive. Normally once the wingman returns their results it switches to valid and you get the usual points for it.
On the single validation projects I've read that they randomly flag results as Inconclusive just to validate your computer. It can also be marked Inconclusive if it's outside of some expected range - i.e. it took a lot longer or shorter than normal. Not usually something to worry about unless they get marked as Invalid. See the last post in this thread, referenced by the FAQ, for more ways you could get marked Inconclusive...

I had 9 inconclusive this am. They so far have all ended up counting in the past.

Inconclusive generally means that a second work unit will need to be sent out to verify your result. This is usually the case for HFCC and FAAH work units since they have zero redundancy. they should count if your host is still producing valid results. When to get really worried is when your computer starts returning invalids or errors. Please be patient with these work units. It is normal to see inconclusive from time to time on zero redundancy projects.

No problem just curious as had not encountered with HFCC until recently.

It's all true as the 'Inconclusives' are now 'Valids' - so all is well!!
