I have tried a couple of different projects but the agent never gets past 5 - 6 % completion. Nothing is running on this computer; it's practically dedicated to BOINC. BOINC agent level is 6.2.28.

Is it a new computer?
What operating system? Are the power savings features turned off? Are you getting errors? Is your anti virus software getting in the way? Which projects and how long did you let them run for? Do they say running or waiting to run? Which profile are you using for this machine and have you changed any of the defaults? |

jrgilman,
----------------------------------------In addition to Snow Crash's queries, can we plz see a good part of the message log? Maybe the apps pausing when reaching a certain memory use level... the message logs would tell us that and a whole deal more. Specifically we'd like to know the science freezing up. HFCC and FAAH can hover for a long time on the same percent, but they're really working. thanks.

Does not reveal a plausible cause. Looking at your badges, did RICE run well before on this device? Recent client upgrade from 5.10.45 e.g.?

From this:
12/15/2009 2:01:20 PM||Reading preferences override file It seems that you've modified the settings locally. And 12/15/2009 1:53:51 PM||General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 31-Dec-1969 19:00:01) probably means that you've never modified the settings on the website (thus default settings). So, if you wish to restore the settings to the ones on the website, click "Advanced" (or "Tools" depending on BOINC client version) from the menu bar, choose "Preferences", click the "Clear" button and then the "OK" button. |

Cheers. Jean. |

I believe it has nothing to do with the BOINC settings. It's a problem with my computer and other programs on it because when I run the BOINC agent in safe mode, it works (at least the task is now 85% complete). Problem is I have no errors being logged.

Did the job finish properly?
